What exactly is colocation?
Can I bring any server?
Yes, as long as it's standard rack-mountable equipment (1U, 2U or 4U depending on the plan). If your server is larger, or you need a half rack or a full rack, contact us and we'll quote it to fit your needs.
How do I ship my equipment to Miami?
We coordinate with you to receive your server at the Cogent datacenter (Boca Raton). Once it arrives, we mount it in the rack, connect it to power and network, and configure your IP address before handing over your access credentials.
What is IPMI / iDRAC access?
It's your server's remote management card (IPMI in general, iDRAC on Dell servers). It lets you power on, power off, reinstall the operating system and view your server's console remotely, as if you were right in front of it. Included on every plan.
How much do remote hands cost?
Remote hands cost $150 per hour. It's the service where our team works on your server physically when you need it: swapping a drive, reconnecting a cable, pressing a button or checking the hardware on site.
Is the link really 10 Gbps?
Your plan includes a 1 Gbps link with unmetered bandwidth. We also have links of up to 10 Gbps available at the datacenter: if your project needs it, we can upgrade your port on request, quoted separately.
Can I pay from Venezuela?
Yes. Prices are in USD, and for customers in Venezuela payment can be made in bolivars at the day's BCV rate. We also accept bank transfer and mobile payment.
Does the 30-day money-back guarantee apply?
No — colocation is excluded from our 30-day money-back guarantee (same as dedicated servers, domains, certificates and licenses), because it involves reserving space, power and network capacity specifically for your equipment. We confirm all the details with you before billing.
