How to unblock your IP from the client area when you can't access your hosting

If your email, cPanel, or FTP suddenly stop connecting, chances are your IP got blocked by the server's firewall. It's a normal protection β€” and you can remove the block yourself in under a minute from your client area. Here's how, step by step.

You were working along and, all of a sudden, your email won't connect, cPanel won't load, or FTP rejects you. Before you panic: it's almost never that your account is down β€” it's that your IP address got blocked by the server's firewall. It's an automatic security measure, and the good news is that you can fix it yourself, without opening a ticket or waiting for a reply, right from your client area.

In this guide we'll explain why it happens and walk you step by step through the "Unblock IP Address" tool available in your panel. It takes less time to read than to fix.

What you'll need: your client area login and to be connected from the same network (same IP) that got blocked. That's it.

Why does my IP get blocked?

The server watches connection attempts to protect you. When it detects several failed attempts in a row, it temporarily blocks the IP they're coming from β€” that's how it stops brute-force attacks. The catch is that sometimes that block hits you even though you did nothing wrong. The most common causes:

  • An old saved password on your phone, mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, the phone app), or FTP manager: the program keeps retrying on its own with the wrong password.
  • You changed a password and some device is still using the old one.
  • Several typos of your password while logging into cPanel, webmail, or FTP.
  • You're behind a shared network (office, store) and another machine triggered the failures.

The typical sign: almost everything stops working at once (email, cPanel, FTP), but your public website still loads fine for everyone else. That confirms the problem is your IP, not the server.

Step-by-step guide to unblock your IP

1

Log in to your client area

From the same device or network where you have the problem, log in to your client area with your usual email and password. Doing it from there matters: the tool automatically detects your current IP, which is exactly the one to unblock.

2

Open the "Support" menu

Once inside, click "Support" in the top menu bar. A menu with the help tools will open.

3

Click "Unblock IP Address"

In that menu, choose "Unblock IP Address". It's the tool that checks the server firewall and removes the block on your IP if it finds one.

Check the IP shown

The screen will automatically show your current IP address β€” the same one you're connecting from right now. You don't have to look it up or type it: the system detects it for you. Verify it's the one you want to free up.

5

Press the button to check and remove the block

Click the "Check and remove block" button. At that moment the system checks your hosting server's firewall and, if your IP is blocked, unblocks it instantly. If there was no block, it will tell you that too β€” so you can rule that out.

6

Try your connection again

With the block removed, open your email, cPanel, or FTP again and try to connect. It should work right away. If it still fails, it's very likely the same device will block you again because of the old saved password β€” keep reading the section below to fix the root cause.

Important: unblocking the IP doesn't fix the cause. If a device has a wrong password saved, it will keep retrying and block you again within minutes. After unblocking, fix or delete that saved password on your email, phone, and FTP client.

Blocked again and again: how to fix it for good

If you unblock and get locked out again minutes later, some program is retrying on its own with the wrong password. To find it:

  • Email: check your account password on every device where it's set up (phone, tablet, Outlook, Thunderbird, webmail). Just one with the old password is enough to block you everywhere.
  • FTP: confirm the username and password in FileZilla or whichever manager you use; delete the saved site and recreate it with the correct details.
  • Apps and scripts: if your site connects to the database or a mailbox with credentials, verify they're still current.
  • The safe way to start fresh: change the password for the affected service in cPanel and update it on every device before reconnecting.

Questions we get a lot

Is it safe to unblock my own IP?
Yes. You only free your address so you can connect again; you don't lower the server's security or affect anyone else. The firewall keeps protecting against everything else.

I'm away / on another network β€” does it still work?
The tool unblocks the IP you're using to reach the client area at that moment. Connect from the same network where you have the problem so it unblocks the right IP. If you switch networks (office to phone data), your IP changes and you may not even have been blocked.

It says my IP wasn't blocked, but I still can't get in.
Then it's something else: wrong password, wrong port in your mail/FTP client, or a specific service. Check your credentials and, if that doesn't solve it, message us on WhatsApp or open a ticket with a screenshot of the error.

I don't have the "Unblock IP Address" option in my menu.
It may depend on your plan or the server you're hosted on. Message us and we'll unblock you manually right away β€” we just need your IP (we'll tell you what it is if you don't know).

How long does the block last if I do nothing?
Many blocks are temporary and lift on their own after a while, but if a device keeps retrying with the wrong password, the block renews and won't clear. That's why it's best to unblock yourself and, above all, fix the saved password.

The one-line summary

Log in to your client area, open the Support menu, go to Unblock IP Address, check the IP it shows, and press "Check and remove block". Then fix the old password that caused the block so it doesn't happen again.
