SRT Live Video
Point-to-point streaming without drops
The SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) protocol carries your video signal over the public internet with low latency, packet recovery and AES encryption — ideal for live contribution from any connection.

Broadcast quality over the internet
SRT recovers the packet loss that breaks an RTMP stream and encrypts your signal end to end. Go live from your encoder (OBS, vMix, hardware) to our Miami servers.
How it worksWhat is SRT
Reliable point-to-point streaming
SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is an open protocol built to move professional-grade video over the public internet. It runs on UDP and adds packet recovery (ARQ) inside a latency buffer, plus AES encryption — absorbing the loss and jitter that freeze an RTMP stream.
The encoder sends the signal over SRT to our server point-to-point; SRT corrects loss and encrypts the path. From the server we deliver to your audience via HTML5 players, HLS or the Wowza player.
How it works
From your camera to air in 3 steps
Set up your encoder
Point OBS, vMix or your hardware encoder to the SRT URL and port we give you. Nothing else to install.
It goes out over SRT
The signal travels point-to-point over UDP with packet recovery and AES encryption — stable even on mobile or unstable links.
We deliver to your audience
Our server receives the signal and distributes it via HLS and HTML5 players so people watch on web, app or TV.
Why SRT
Reliable where RTMP fails
Packet recovery
ARQ re-sends what's lost inside a latency buffer. The picture won't freeze on jitter or network loss.
AES encryption
Your signal travels encrypted end to end with AES-128 or AES-256. Secure contribution over the public internet.
Low latency
Around 1 second over the public internet, well below RTMP's typical 2–5 s.
Point-to-point
Direct encoder-to-server connection, with no intermediate platforms degrading the signal.
Optional Wowza engine
The Wowza plan adds the professional streaming standard for multi-player and HLS output.
Our own Miami infra
Hosted and maintained on our servers at the Cogent datacenter, Miami. Unlimited data transfer.

SRT vs RTMP
When each one fits
| SRT | RTMP | |
|---|---|---|
| Network built for | Unstable / mobile public internet | Stable, wired networks |
| Typical latency | ~1 second | 2–5 seconds |
| Packet loss | Recovers with ARQ | Can break the stream |
| Encryption | Native AES-128 / AES-256 | Not native |
| Ideal use | Contribution / point-to-point | Ingest to platforms |
Stable, wired connection? RTMP may be enough. Public internet, mobile or in the field? SRT keeps your signal on air.
FAQ
About SRT video
What encoder do I need?
Any encoder with SRT output: OBS Studio, vMix or hardware encoders. We give you the SRT URL, port and passphrase to set it up.
How many people can watch me?
Both plans include 50 simultaneous viewers and up to 2560 Kbps bitrate. Need more? We quote it on WhatsApp.
What's the difference between the two plans?
Same SRT capabilities. The Wowza plan runs on Wowza Media Server — the professional streaming standard — for multi-player and HLS output. The standard plan uses our SRT infrastructure, at a lower price.
Does my audience need SRT to watch?
No. SRT is for contribution (your encoder to the server). We deliver to your audience via standard HLS and HTML5 players that work on web, app or TV.
